THE PIKES PEAK SERTOMAN Now in our 62nd Year

Meeting on January 21, 2010

The usual group of members, 16 total, were present today for a sandwich bar, assorted fruit, chef salad and potato chips.  As usual, Eric Scott led us in the Sertoma song and John Whitten chose Take Me Out To The Ballgame to sing. Welcome back Rod Wells led us in the pledge and was duly fined for not starting the pledge out by “Please face the flag” Guess he has been gone longer than we think!  Thanks again to Gay Hatler for leading us in a very emotional prayer and thanks to Gay we enjoyed some very delicious cookies!

Announcements

Please take note: The date for visiting Gleneagle Sertoma Club, to lay claim to the Governors Travelling Trophy, has been changed   to January 27th.  They meet at the Academy Hotel, 8110 North Academy Blvd. at 11:45AM. This is next Wednesday so if you have not signed up, call Eric and let him know you will be going.  At present we have a good group.

Willie Horst is still looking for a couple of bowlers to form a team starting on January 25th,  Monday night, 6:30PM at Harmony Bowl. This might be your last chance to get out of the house, kill a couple of beers and enjoy some fellowship. We have 3 signed up and need at least 2 more to enter a team. This is a mixed league so if any members have wives who like to bowl, we encourage them to join the team.

Jon Handy is heading up our Valentines flowers program. Jon handed out a list of our widows and if anyone has any additions or deletions, Jon needs to know.  Also need several members to deliver when the time comes.
